pose among the Victorian machinery at Kew Bridge Steam Museum and adjoining Ladies Forge
I spent five days at the school photographing their classes, culminating in two mornings at the museum. The students are incredibly dedicated, punishing their bodies whilst following their dreams. The continually creative atmosphere at Rambert was truly inspiring to me. Dancers move and strike a pose unlike mere mortals. The museum houses real working pumps which once moved great volumes of water from the Thames. I aimed to play visually with the strength of the enormous machinery and the strength, yet beautiful vulnerability of the dancers.
